Created under an Australian Film Commission initiative to develop emerging writers and directors, Stranded is an unusual dark comedy about a girl trying to start a new life after the loss of her mother. Claudia has moved into her mother's abandoned car in the driveway, to avoid fighting with her loving but inept father and psychotic little sister, then her plan to hit the road is thrown into disarray by the cute kleptomaniac who works at the local supermarket. — K.
