Press FAQs
Publicity Guidelines for Press Screenings and Comp Tickets
Press queries for interviews, information, etc. should go through either Hamilton Ink or Larsen Associates. If you are unsure who you should contact, please email publicity@cafilm.org.
Press Screenings
You must be an accredited journalist to attend any of the press screenings and be on the California Film Institute press list. If you are not currently on our mailing list, please contact CFI at publicity@cafilm.org to receive an accreditation package.
This year’s press screenings will be managed by Larsen Associates. A representative from Larsen will be at all screenings with press kits for each film and will be able to provide any additional information you may need. Larsen Associates will also maintain the tape lending library in San Francisco and can facilitate drop off and pick up of all tapes. Please make sure that you can return the tapes within 48 hours, either at a screening or directly to the Larsen Associates office.
Press Comps
As in year’s past, we ask that all requests for comp tickets be in writing and faxed to Pam Hamilton at 415.381.3319 or emailed at pam@hamiltoninkpr.com. Because of the tremendous number of requests that we process every year, we cannot take requests by phone, only by hard copy. If you have to change a request, again it must be done by fax or email. Ticket requests will be processed by October 1 and tickets will be available at the box office of your requested choice (either Mill Valley or Rafael box office) on October 2. Please check all your tickets immediately so that we can clear up any problems soonest.
Digital Images
This year, we are supplying all our images on a CD-ROM, which is in each press kit as well as online at mvff.com. Just click on the folder of the film you want and a series of images will be available to download and print. If you cannot use the CD-ROM, please contact publicity@cafilm.org for assistance.
